Last week Band of Climbers headed to Valais in Switzerland to ride the Tour des Stations Fondo event. If you're unfamiliar with the event, the Tour des Stations describes itself as the 'world's toughest one day bike race'.

The headline event, the Ultra Fondo packs in 240km of riding with 8250m of climbing, so it's easy to see why it's so difficult.

There were also two other routes available that some of us rode, the Gran Fondo, with 140km and 4750m of elevation, and the Medio Fondo, with 87km and 2750m of elevation.

Due to Covid-19, there should have been other routes available too, and a much larger number of participants. However, full credit to the organisers, they somehow managed to make the event happen with around 1600 competitors from across Europe, and what an event it was.

We have a full image gallery coming soon, but for now, check out the UK National Hill Climb Champion, and Band of Climbers Ambassador Ed Laverack's ride on the Ultra Fondo in his YouTube video filmed while riding.
